Annually, the P&A Senate recognizes units of the University of Minnesota that are judged to be exemplary in their support of P&A staff and the critical role P&A employees fulfill in supporting the University's mission.

The selected unit receives:

  • A plaque
  • A $1,000 monetary award to support a unit-centered, P&A professional development activity, coordinated by the winning unit's P&A Senate representative(s).

In addition, the selected unit receives wide-spread public recognition on all University campuses through a marketing campaign designed to highlight best practices with regard to P&A employees.

Questions regarding the P&A Senate Outstanding Unit Award can be directed to Julie Rashid and Connie Bongiorno, Professional Development and Recognition Subcommittee Co-Chairs, at pdr@umn.edu.
