This session will highlight the University of Minnesota’s Earl E. Bakken Center for Spirituality & Healing’s Wellbeing Model and its application in fostering resilience in individuals and teams. Topics will include:
• An overview of the six dimensions of the Wellbeing Model developed by Bakken Center founder and director, Mary Jo Kreitzer, PhD, RN, FAAN
• Examples of the Bakken Center's wellbeing tools and methods supporting resilience and wellbeing
• An opportunity to practice one of the Bakken Center's wellbeing tools: everyday mindfulness
Mariann Johnson is a wellbeing and mindfulness instructor for the University of Minnesota Earl E. Bakken Center for Spirituality & Healing. Prior to joining the Bakken Center, Mariann served as a mindfulness facilitator and manager for Moment Health, a UnitedHealth Group Ventures program, and as a founding and senior instructor for the Institute for Mindful Leadership, an international leadership development group originally piloted at General Mills, Inc. Mariann has practiced mindfulness meditation for over 25 years and studied with national and international leaders in the field. She completed extensive Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) teacher training through the Center for Mindfulness at the University of Massachusetts, founded by Jon Kabat-Zinn.
