Work. With Flexibility. - Guidance

President Gabel and Vice President for Human Resources Ken Horstman recently announced the University's Work. With Flexibility. guidance that informs planning for the August 2 return to campus. To learn more, please visit  z.umn.edu/WorkWithFlexibility. which houses numerous information resources, including the guidelines themselves, case studies of how they are already being applied in certain areas, a list of FAQs, supervisory training materials, and more.

Policy Updates

Accruing and Using Vacation Leave Procedure 
The Accruing and Using Vacation Leave Procedure has been revised to increase the maximum earned balance to 216 hours (27 days), with the maximum payout remaining at 176 hours. The revisions have been approved by the President’s Policy Committee (PPC) and the policy will be entering the 30 day open comment period. 

Program Curtailment 
The Early and Select Termination Appointment Termination Policy has been revised to ensure that P&A employees impacted through Program Curtailment are offered the Non-Renewal Program. The revisions have been approved by the President’s Policy Committee (PPC) and the policy will be entering the 30 day open comment period. 
 
Vacation Donation Program
Vacation-earning P&A employees have been added to the Vacation and Donation Policy permitting them to donate to the program. Any vacation-earning P&A, faculty, civil service, or union-represented employee, holding a University benefits-eligible position, may donate vacation time to the program. The revisions have been approved by the President’s Policy Committee (PPC) and the policy will be entering the 30 day open comment period.
