Recent Faculty Consultative Committee (FCC) efforts and action:
- At the meeting on November 4, 2021, the FCC discussed changing the bylaws so FCC membership would include voting members from the Duluth (Medicine or Pharmacy) and Rochester campuses (The Morris Campus has a voting FCC member). (FCC)
- Heard from Senior Vice President for Finance and Operations Myron Frans and Assistant Vice President and Budget Director Julie Tonneson on the annual University budgeting process and timeline, to understand when it would be best for faculty to provide input. (FCC)
- Met with President Joan Gabel to receive updates on the University's COVID-19 response, neighborhood and campus safety, and the Faculty Misconduct Task Force initiatives. (FCC)
Upcoming/Ongoing efforts:
- Communicating with Executive Vice President and Provost Rachel Croson on the administrative response and plans regarding the senate Resolution on Classroom Health and Safety under COVID-19. (chair/vice chair)
- Consulting with Provost Croson on the proposal to use the COVID-19 Vaccine Attestation Discipline Advisory Committee (CVADAC) process, adopted by the Faculty Senate on September 23, 2021, for non-compliance of the vaccine mandate. The provost will attend the FCC meeting on November 18, 2021, to present the proposal, which will then be discussed and voted on at the December 2, 2021, Faculty Senate meeting. (chair/vice chair)
