Please note: the Student Sexual Misconduct Subcommittee (SSMS) was formally dissolved by the Campus Committee on Student Behavior on August 13, 2020, as a result of new Title IX policies to comply with U.S. Department of Education regulations. Please see the memo from CCSB chair, Lynette Renner.
The SSMS procedures will be used for any student sexual misconduct hearings related to reports received by the Office of Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action prior to August 14, 2020.

STUDENT SEXUAL MISCONDUCT SUBCOMMITTEE
The Student Sexual Misconduct Subcommittee (SSMS) is a standing subcommittee of the Campus Committee on Student Behavior. The SSMS is the central judiciary body for the Twin Cities Campus in all cases involving sexual misconduct violations of the University's Student Conduct Code by students.
Membership
The Student Sexual Misconduct Subcommittee shall be composed of:
- at least 10 faculty/academic professional members,
- at least 10 students.
Members and chairs shall be appointed by the Student Sexual Misconduct Group.
Duties and Responsibilities
a. To serve as the central judiciary body for the Twin Cities Campus in all cases involving sexual misconduct violations of the University's Student Conduct Code by students.
b. To hold hearings in accordance with procedures specified in the University's Student Conduct Code, adopted by the committee, and approved by the Campus Committee on Student Behavior and the Vice Provost for Student Affairs.
c. To recommend to the Campus Committee on Student Behavior and/or the Provost such actions or policies as it deems appropriate.
