Ryan Machtmes

Ryan Machtmes likes to say he grew up in academia. While his mother attained an A.B.D. in crop physiology and her Ph.D. in research methods in education, the family moved around a lot, but always in proximity to a college campus. Machtmes holds a masters degree in applied statistics and is now on track to become a second-generation Ph.D. His participation in University Senate shared governance includes membership on the Disabilities Issues Committee, as well as the University Senate. “I’ve always been strongly committed to service work and servant leadership,” Machtmes said. Professor Joseph Konstan
A Message from the Chair

Professor Joseph Konstan, chair, Faculty/Senate Consultative Committees

Read FCC/SCC Chair Joseph Konstan's comments on the committees' work around liberal education, responding to sexual misconduct, and other consultation.

Each senate has an executive-- or "consultative"-- committee. Members of the consultative committees are elected to represent their respective bodies. Click the link to read highlights from the Faculty, Student, Civil Service, and P&A Consultative Committees.

Senate committees have collaborated on several issues this semester, including, but not limited to, a proposed Trans and Gender Non-Conforming Equity policy, the training module on responding to and reporting sexual misconduct, the tax plan that would impose taxes on graduate student tuition benefits, and issues around DACA and immigration. Click on the link to read more.
