FCC Letter to Board of Regents Regarding Building Names Report

On March 15, 2019, the Faculty Consultative Committee (FCC) sent a letter to the Board of Regents requesting a special session devoted to the debate and discussion of the report of the Task Force on Building Names and Institutional History. This letter comes in the wake of the March 8, 2019 Board of Regents meeting, at which President Kaler presented his recommendation to rename Coffman Memorial Union, Coffeey Hall, Middlebrook Hall, and Nicholson Hall. Student Academic Integrity Committee (SAIC)

The Student Academic Integrity Committee advises the executive vice president and provost and the administrative officers responsible for education, outreach, and sanctions related to issues of student academic integrity.

Research Openness Subcommittee

The Research Openness Subcommittee maintains and develops expertise on the national and University policies and the national funding environment that are relevant to the review of requests for accepting research grants and contracts. The subcommittee reviews requests for exemptions from the Regents Policy, Openness in Research, and forwards recommendations to the Senate Research Committee (SRC).

Senate Research Committee (SRC)

The Senate Research Committee serves as the consultative body to the president and senior University officers on all major issues of and policies dealing with research at the University, such as grants management, intellectual property, and funding issues. The committee is expected to consider matters of University-wide policy or effect.

Senate Judicial Committee

The Senate Judicial Committee serves as the central judiciary body responsible for hearing cases involving denial of tenure and/or promotion and termination for cause.

Senate Committee on Finance and Planning (SCFP)

The Senate Committee on Finance and Planning serves as the consultative body to the president and senior University officers on all major issues of planning, budget, resource allocation policy, and University operations. The committee is expected to consider matters of University-wide policy or effect.

Retirement Subcommittee

The Retirement Subcommittee is a standing subcommittee of the Senate Committee on Faculty Affairs. The Retirement Subcommittee oversees and facilitates communications among faculty members, the Senate Committee on Faculty Affairs and the University administration regarding the operation of the University's Faculty Retirement Plan, Optional Retirement Plan, and Section 457 Deferred Compensation Plan.
